Y'know, I like the Olympics. And I have great respect for most of the atheletes.

But man -- the TV announcers are *whiny* this time around...

They so are.

It doesn't help that the whole gymnastics scoring mess has gotten even messier in the past two years.

The FIG is against it, for some stupid reason.

IIRC Liukin Sr. won a shared gold. That he has to stand by while Nastia is awarded only silver must really suck for him.

I hadn't noticed that they were any more whiny than usual (which is pretty damned whiny, if you ask me). I've always thought the Olympics would be a hell of a lot more entertaining if the commentators would just shut up, especially during the competitions. I hate how the call attention to the least little flaw in anything, be it a dive, a gymnastic routine, or a softball pitch.

I only saw the Olympics last week when in Galvaston, but they were very annoying and inaccurate. I really wish the networks would re-evaluate the purpose of the commentators. In my mind they should be there to explain things to people who do not normally watch the sport, explain the scores, and occasionally give background. Not to constantly chatter for no good reason.

I can't say I've watched any of those. Do they *really* comment on his choice of wardrobe?
