Since I'm home alone anyway, I'm essentially liveblogging over on CommYou: I've opened a conversation for anybody to join in on. If you're on CommYou, I encourage you to come join in...
Now that I'm home with a real keyboard...well, first of all, put all the options that show up at the bottom of the post at the top, AS WELL -- gmail does this sort of thing, and while it doesn't work for EVERY situation, it catches an awful lot of them.
What I had in mind as the "simple fix" was a button at the top that took you straight to the bottom -- available on my desktop as "end", a hardware button on the keyboard, but no such capability exists on the iPhone. I suspect that the iPhone is pretty much lowest common denominator as far as keyboards on highly portable computers go, so I don't have to make the argument that it's a market leader in your target audience (which I suspect is true, but can't back up)
Hmm. Sure, in principle a "scroll to bottom" button makes sense, and ought to be easy enough to implement for the general case. I'm very slightly reluctant, solely on the grounds that I worry about the UI starting to get busy, but I'll put it onto the story list and think about how to work it in. Thanks...
