This idea was also used as one of the central concepts in Bill Willingham's clever, but little known, comic book mini-series, Proposition Player. It's the story of a Las Vegas poker player who buys the souls of some of his friends after betting them that they wouldn't sell their souls for two beers each. He then finds himself playing a new game with much bigger stakes as Heaven and Hell send agents to try to get him to turn over the souls to them. A good story that's recently been reprinted thanks to Willingham's success with his other book, Fables.
Doesn't seem like they're offering that good a deal. If I'm going to give mine up, I'll want a smooth ride for my time left at the very least. That'll get me a Kia, maybe.
