Slightly unsettling story in Ars Technica yesterday: there has been a wave of tiny transactions on many credit cards. In and of themselves, this isn't worrying - nobody is out much money. Yet. The problem is, this might be a sign of credit card thieves who are testing the waters, preparatory to the really big heist.

Read the article for the details, but the main gist is that you should keep an eye on your transaction records, especially for anything from "Adele Services", the apparently-shady front company being used for this...

Yeah, I had to cancel both my debit cards when I caught a $0.26 transaction from them last month. The bank hadn't heard of anyone else with this problem, yet, so they gave me kind of a hard time about it. I nearly left the bank. :P

Yeah. I just got a call from the Boston Globe that my card got rejected. Last time there was a large exposure, Bank of America canceled my card, and sent me a new one without my asking, and without telling me...
