Counter-productive ads?

The ad for the new Kia Soul is trying to look hip, and all -- the hamsters breaking out from their hamster wheels, and driving away in the cool car with their little hamster iPods and all.
But seriously: hamsters? I look at this ad, and all I can think is, "Boy, that's a *small* car..."

My impressions
Date: 2009-04-14 02:41 am (UTC)OK, I've seen it now, and, yeah, it's kind of cute. But (a) it's not cute enough, and (b) how, exactly, are they expecting to impress anybody by saying, "Our car is better than a hamster wheel."?
