So I was taking a look at sca-east (which I haven't done in a while), and came across Steffan pointing out Calisto. This is a cute little Windows program, that does all kinds of period date comparisons. It knows about the historical calendars of all major European countries. It will tell you when Easter was in 1526. It shows you the regnal year for any English date after 800-mumble. It lets you find all the years where November 3rd was on a Thursday. It shows you side-by-side calendar comparisons of, say, the English calendar before the calendar reforms with the Jewish calendar. It even has a modest but useful list of saint's days.

Okay, I'll admit that I have no actual use for this thing. But it's so very neat that I may have to find reasons to pop it up from time to time. And hey -- it wasn't until I looked at this that it had even occurred to me that my persona has slipped into the Jacobean era...
