It occurs to me that no one else among my friends has posted this, so...

Of course, one of the fun bits of going out to the movies is the trailers, especially the trailers in front of something like RotK. Some looked good (especially Shrek 2), some less so. But the really intriguing one was Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, which appears to be a 40's serial done up as a wholly deadpan bigscreen movie. Despite the big name stars (Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie), the trailer appears to be a loving homage to its ancestors, complete with semi-sepiatone cinematography and giant robots tromping down 5th Avenue.

The trailer is available online, natch. I commend it if you haven't seen it already. The movie might be terrible or great, possibly even both at once. But my curiosity is thoroughly piqued...

Holy cow.

That looks gorgeous.

You know, if the plot is stupid, we can just buy the DVD, show it with the sound off, but with piano accompaniment by that guy who does the Metropolis showings.

It does look cool

I hope it comes to Israel in reasonable time. Or maybe is out when I'm in the USA.

Nancy found that trailer on-line last week, and we're quite intrigued. I'm glad to see the word getting around.
