Annoying though it is, I do take a certain amusement in the better examples of dadaist art emanating from the random-word spam-title generators.

So the phrase of the day is now officially "gibbons incorporable"...

I don't understand the logic of these generators. Sure, they may defeat some of the spam filters, but I just nuke them when I see them. They're really obvious. I happened to like:

• burden compromise
  
• heathkit hart (do-it-yourself wildlife?)
  
• shenanigan jimmy ethnology
  
• decontrol cyclops beta button locknut (one part of the heathkit hart, perhaps?)

Basically, someone told them that people look for search words in spam. So they started putting random words in spam in an attempt to confuse the learning filters. It sort of works -- it fools some Bayesian filtering software -- but by and large, since they use *very uncommon* words (or non-words), it's easy enough to ignore, for the same reason it looks odd to you.

I'd love to find the ****ers that write the software for the spammers, and sign them up for a bunch of root physmail lists...

Hm. I've been reading about this stuff for a while now, but I have yet to see even a single example of it, on either my panix or yahoo accounts. I wonder what y'all are doing that I'm not, or vice versa? [I'm mostly getting just false "Microsoft Updates", false "bounced mail", and Nigerians who want to share money with me.

We've got TMDA, so the only spam I get is via whitelisted email lists, in this case the sca-questions list, and not too much of that at present.

Me too. Today I got "godhead corroborate". I also liked "foliage binomial". Some of the images are fun. The weirdest I got was "You have a date cask mispronunciation tog striptease her peer chromosphere alvin creditor alone tariff detest avon breakfast poplar raffia"

These are ones that got caught by procmail, by the way -- so it didn't even work. I think I deleted one or two that were even more bizarre from my inbox, but I can't remember them now.

Not only that, but they try to pass off inferior offshore carrots as parsnips. Not the same at all!!
