Just heard on the news that Krispy Kreme in Medford is closing its doors, due to the company's money problems. I'll miss it (being one of those people who actually likes their donuts), but it's probably far better for my health this way...

Absolutely. ALtho the microwaved or oven-reheated is close to bliss....

Our theory (growing up in North Carolina and having one way too close to home) was that there was lard in the icing, which gave it it's unique taste. However, the lightness of them is something I've never found duplicated.


And I love to watch them being made...

There may have been originally, but some Krispy Kreme outlets have been certified kosher, which suggests that's no longer a required part of the sekrit recipe
